Sir Terence Matthews keynote: Sir Terry is the founder and Chairman of Wesley Clover International, an investment management firm and holding company. Since 1972, Terry has either founded or funded more than 100 companies, including Newbridge Networks, which went on to became a leader in the worldwide data networking industry. Before Newbridge, Terry co-founded Mitel in 1972, a current world leader in the design and manufacture of enterprise communications systems and software.

Today, Wesley Clover has interests in a broad range of next-generation ICT companies, as well as real estate, leisure properties and philanthropic activities. Terry is Chairman of a number of these private and publicly traded companies, and he sits as a Director on the Boards of several others.

Terry holds an honours degree in electronics from the University of Wales, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and of the Royal Academy of Engineering. In 1994, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, and in 2001, as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours, he was awarded a Knighthood. He was also appointed Patron of the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute in 2011.
